From one end of the Bible to the other, we are commanded to be thankful. In fact, thankfulness is the natural outflowing of a heart that is attuned to God. The psalmist declared, "Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving" (Psalm 147:7, NIV). Paul wrote, "Be thankful" (Colossians 3:15, NIV). A spirit of thanksgiving is always the mark of a
Anybody with any income can become greedy and hoard or long for possessions and money—giving sets us free from the bonds of greed. 5. WE ARE ALL STEWARDS. " Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. " —Luke 16:10.
The Bible says in John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son. God gave His best because He loves you and I. When we give we become more like God, God gave His best. Giving also draws us closer to God because giving is an act of Worship and when you and I Worship God, it draws us closer to God. Write with your audience in mind. Speak so your listeners learn. Share your sermon. 1. Choose your sermon topic. Before we dive into how to write a sermon, let's consider the two main types of sermons: topical and expositional. Topical sermons explore a biblical word or concept, like missions, giving, or prayer. SERMON POINTS: 1. I want you to look carefully at your hands. . .they represent much more than skin and bones. Before taxes, before any other expenditures, we are to give. It's the very first thing that we're to do with our finances. So giving's to be a priority. 2. Giving is to be done proportionally. Principle number two: The giving is to be done proportionally. Meaning that we give according to what God has given to us. God has already provided His healing power and placed it on the inside of every born-again believer. It is up to us to release it. Understanding and using our authority is the key to seeing miracles happen. Look at how Peter and John ministered healing to the lame man in Acts 3:1-8: "Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the
Gratitude keeps us from thinking that the Christian walk is all about us and our needs. Our fellowship with God is enhanced when we focus on Him. Reinforces our faith. Thanksgiving helps us dig ourselves out of the pit of discouragement and strengthens us spiritually. When you're overwhelmed, thanking God is probably not on your radar.
